Waterloo International Railway Station by Nicholas Grimshaw and Partners. Completed in 1994, the project design had
to negotiate complex site constraints that were constantly being changed throughout the design
process. Due to the variable site width, every change in the site constraints had an effect on
every truss member. Although parametric modeling was not used on this project, the difficult of
the design lead 4 of its designers to later form the Smart Geometry Group, a non-profit
organization devoted to the development and promotion of new computational design tools. |
